Okay, I know that the name Isabella is in the top 10 of names for 2007. DH and I really like the name Isabel. How popular do you think the name REALLY is?? Is my little girl going to grow up with like 10 Isabel's/Isabella's in her class??? Opinions please!!!

its really popular around here, there are about 10 Isabel/Isabella's at our baby gym (out of about 70 kids age 6 mo-3 years) and I feel like I hear it all the time just out and about. I think name popularity is different from state to state though so its best to look in your birth announcements, see how often you hear it when you are out.. and so on.

It is popular throughout the nation, however not in my town or any town around me. I grew up 30 minutes from where I live now, and I have never met an Isabel or Isabella ever. I do know a lot of people though with it as a MN.

If you go to the Social Security Administration's website on baby names, you can find out exactly how many baby Isabels in the entire U.S. (for 2006 and prior years - the 2007 data are not available quite yet but will be soon) and also state by state.
