I would NEVER give my child a title for a name, but maybe it's just more strange to me because I'm part

It just seems creepy to me because Michael Jackson named both of his sons Prince Michael.

I've known many dogs named Prince, Princess, Duke, etc... so that's what I think of when I hear a child by those "names". Of course, people may also just think you are a huge Michael Jackson fan.

The general rule is, the more elevated a name is (a title--like King or Princess--or a brand--Tiffany or Lexus), the more "downwardly mobile" it is--the more it implies that you're not educated or intelligent. It's kind of a blanket statement, but I think that's the air that Prince gives off.

It would be ok if it didn't make me think of Michael Jackson!

I personally don't like the name Prince. That's basically the equivalent of naming your daughter Princess. Michael Jackson named his son Prince. You will always have someone disagree with the name you choose. I'm sure I could find a million people who don't like the names I've picked out too. Good luck in your decision!

my name means Queen, i love that.. and every Regina i've met say the same thing, but i would never want to be named Queen. if you like the idea of Prince, search for names meaning prince, or names of Prince's, such as William, Harry, or even, Rainier.

Am I the only one who thinks of "the artist formerly known as Prince" who is now known as Prince again?
