Problem with the name Will.....

OK....DH and I LOVE the name Will (William-it is a family name on both sides) but I do not want him to be Will W. in school.

If you use Will that will differentiate him from the Williams, Bills and Billys.
We have a son named Will (just Will, not William). He's 14 now and I have been very surprised at how *few* Wills we have met over the years. I mean, literally less than a handful. So unless that is drastically different in your area, I wouldn't worry about it. Do keep in mind that we homeschool -- so we're not actively involved in a school system where I suppose there could be lots more. But even reading names in the newspaper, knowing public schooled kids at church, etc. we still haven't met all that many Wills.
HTH!

Well, I LOVE the name too so I'm biased.
There's really nothing you can do about other kids in your DS's class... My DD is Caroline and she had a friend of mine's DD (also Caroline) in her class for two years. They were "D" and "H" and my friend and I still call them that when talking to each other! They are none the worse for wear. You never know what will turn up. There are two boys both named Finn N. in the same grade at our school. Who woulda' thunk it?
Will is a FABULOUS name. Love Charles, too. And I'd def. use Hardy. Max isn't really the same classic style (and there are lots of dogs named that.) I guess Zane Wayne is out, huh? LOL
