The only spelling for the pronunciation that you would like that I've seen before is Kari. However, I've also heard this used before as another way to spell Carrie. Although, personally I've heard it more often pronounced Car-ee, but it's mainly been when watching things that are from Japan. I love the Car-ee pronunciation and would spell it like Kari if I were to use it.

I just wanted to add that another name that I've heard which is similar is Kairi, which is pronounced Kai (like in Kite) Ree, so Kai-ree. I like this name a bit more than Kari.

I'd say that the "ah" would get the pronunciation you want, but it looks awkward to me. I think you'd be safe with Cari and a gentle correction.

So, if I went w/ the name Kahri.....I'd probably be setting her up for a lifetime of correcting her name pronunciation?

I would pronounce Kahri like "kahr-ee". I know a girl whose name is pronounced this way: it's spelled Karee.

Possibly if you reversed the spelling to Khari it would work?

I'm not sure...do you want care-ee or car-ee? If it's the latter, it'll probably work...but it just looks contrived.

If I were to read the name Kahri, I would definately pronounce it like car-ee. That is by far my favorite spelling.
