My younger half-sister is named Kahri and pronounces it car-ee. I was thinking there was some significance in the spelling, maybe Scandinavian origins?? Hard to remember exactly, as she is 13 now. But it works for her!
I'm sure she gets people asking her how to pronounce Kahri, but, in all honesty I think it happens to most non-top-20 names these days-- but it doesn't seem like she has an issue with it or anything. And she seems to like her name-- so that helps!
I'm not sure whether she gets the "carrie confusion" since I'm mostly just around her at family get-togethers and such. I'll have to ask her the next time I see her!
