I don't think it's rude at all. In fact, I think the parent would feel very good that you think he or she named the child a fitting name. I used to babysit for a little Kelly and the first time I saw her she just "was" a Kelly. I don't know "what" a Kelly "is" but this cutie was Kelly through and through.
Go ahead and comment away! Especially since it's not like you're walking up to random people on the street and saying, "I think your baby looks like a Trevor. What is his name anyway?" That might be a little out of place. Funny, but out of place.
I don't see how anyone could take offense at you suggesting that his or her child looks like the name they carefully (hopefully!) chose for the babe.

Oh, I've never had a bad experience with it, but I've bitten my tongue on a few occasions when I've wanted to say it, out of fear of offending the parent.
Most of the time, I think it when I see some of the fantastic siggies people have with pictures of their kid(s). I just never say anything.
I can't imagine how difficult it is to chose a name for a baby. And I totally understand narrowing it down to a few until the baby arrives then choosing after seeing them.
Thanks for your imput! I'll be sure to speak up in the future!
