Last year (2006, since the Social Security Admin hasn't released for 2007 yet) there were 1, 213 boys born named Quinn and 538 girls. You might know more girl Quinns, but this is still a decidedly male-leaning name.
And, interestingly enough, in Faulkner's "the Sound and the Fury," there were both a male AND a female character named Quentin.
My younger son's name is Quinlan and we call him Quinn from time to time. I completely think it's a boy's name. Before Quinlan was born (3.5 years ago) I had never heard it as a girl name. I was shocked when a friend's child told me that she went to school with a girl Quinn. It seems overwhelmingly masculine to me.
