We think the name Quinn alone doesnt sound right, so what do you think about the name Quincy (nn Quinn) for a girl? Possibly spelled Quincie or Quinncy. Any imput?

I like Quinn, but Quincy just sounds silly for a boy or a girl. I makes me think of John Quincy Adams, and there's also a town where I live (Mass) called Quincy. I'd stick with plain Quinn.

I like it! Although the MN should be more "girly" Quincy Elizabeth,Quincy Marie, etc. I think diffrent spellings are ok to aslong as you don't get to creative,I like Quincie.

I don't see Quincy as a girls name at all. I guess I just know or know of enough male Quincy's to not see that.

here is a really really cute name that Quinn can be a nickname for - Aquinnah

it means something about "high ground" in native American (American Indian)

I first saw it in the Luanne Rice book "The Secret Hour" (which is an AWESOME book, by the way). apparently Michael J. Fox also has a daughter named Aquinnah.

if you don't like the A starter, even possibly Quinna or Quinnah would spruce up your Quinn a bit. but no to Quincy, at least from this corner.

good luck.

I think too many people put too much stock in the opinions of others. I posted a humorous reply earlier to another woman asking opinions on some crazy names given to her newphews, and I got hit with a post from some irate psycho lady! Look, here's what it boils down to. Are you carrying this child? Is this child going home with you? Are you going to financially, emotionally, and physically support this child for the rest of its life? If you answered YES to all three, then trust your own feelings! Name your daughter what you WANT to name her, without regard to the wishes and feelings of your relatives, your friends, and ESPECIALLY some strangers on the internet! Quinn, Quincy, Aquinnah, they ALL sound good to me! This child's name and any problems or joys it may bring comes down to three people: you, your husband, and eventually your daughter. I think Quincy is cute, if my two cents' worth means anything. You know she's going to end up being Quinn in the long run, anyway. My cousin wanted to name her daughter after her mother, Patricia; unfortunately, she didn't really like the name Patricia. She wound up naming her Catricia; Cat for short. It's cute, it's original, and she didn't ask a committee for their permission. You go with what works for you. And stick with it. Good luck to you and little Quincy!

I LOVE the name Quincie, it's actually one of the names I have considered for the baby I am expecting in April. I don't know if I am having a girl yet, but the name is one of my fav's and I plan to use Victoria as a middle name. My family hates it, although my husband really has no opinion on it... Good luck to you!

Personally, I really don't like these "unisex" names where a boy name is given to a girl - even if the spelling is altered. I have 4 sons & naming boys is getting more difficult every year because of this trend. That's just my opinion!
