Okay so the general consesus is that Reagan is a girl name. Now you have me second guessing my choice to name our baby boy that. Growing up we had a little boy that lived next door named Reagan and I have always liked the name. So do you think by changing the spelling to Raygon makes it more masculine or should I just give up on the name all together. Why oh why is coming up with boys names so hard? I don't want anything too common like Jacob, Tyler and such...but I don't want anything to weird.

HELP!

Maybe Reagan is more commonly used as a girl's name now. But I think if you like the name, make it your son's!

I mean, look at Peyton Manning. He doesn't seem to have any mental complexes. There are plenty of masculine, successful men named things like Morgan, Taylor, and Jordan. Even if we think of them as "more" feminine now, so what? My sister's name is Lindsay and she used to get selective service notices in the mail after she turned 18 because Lindsay was supposed to be a boy's name!

Besides, if you name him Reagan and it just doesn't seem to fit, there's always Ray! (But not Raygon, please...I vote that it sousd like an insecticide.);-)

PS -- I think Reagan is more masculine than Regan and easier to know that proununciation...After my little diatribe, there, I do have to say that I think Regan (Ree-gan) is a girl's name!

when I first saw your post I assumed you were pronouncing that Ray-GONE - so no, I definitely would not recommend that spelling for Reagan just to make it more masculine.

how about these which are similar and more definitely boy- Keegan, Breegan. I LOVE Keegan, apparently is is used for girl sparingly, very rare, much more known as a boy name. Breegan is all boy as far as I know. It's very unusual, you don't here it very often. I also heard Brogan one time - Long O in there. It's OK, but I like the Breegan better.

good luck.

yeah, I know - pretty soon the traditional, conservative biblical names like Matthew, Jacob, Daniel, William, Thomas, Stephen, John, James etc will be all that's left that's all boy. As soon as a trendy boy name becomes semi-popular, the girls "steal" it.

Sorry, but to me it seems sci fiction oriented--like Ray Gun...

**Okay so the general consesus is that Reagan is a girl name.

It can go either way, but it is more of a masculine name for me.

**Now you have me second guessing my choice to name our baby boy that. Growing up we had a little boy that lived next door named Reagan and I have always liked the name.

Then name your little boy Reagan.

**So do you think by changing the spelling to Raygon makes it more masculine or should I just give up on the name all together.

Raygon-that's a GREAT spelling IF you are space travellers living in the year 6023 AD. Seriously, it sounds like a name straight out of a Ray Bradbury sci-fi novel. Just giving you my honest first impression of the spelling.

I don't see a problem naming a little boy Reagan-especially in the year following President Reagan's (RIP) death :(

I think Reagan is a neat name for either a boy or girl. Raygon is just a really weird spelling of it though.
