A recurring name

From a previous post, it looks like a lot of people have the name Felicity in their top five (including me!). Woohoo!
Some Web sites list it as an English name; others list it as Latin. The meaning is always listed the same as "happiness" and "good luck." But, what is the name, English or Latin??
Would anyone like to share how their DH feels about this name, as well as middle name and nickname options and/or if you feel this name is too long? I adore this name, so I am all ears when it comes to hearing anything about it.

Felicity is an English word based upon a Latin root (felicitas), so I'd call it English before I'd call it Latin. I'm not an expert, though, so I'm curious to see other responses. Good question. :)
I was also surprised how many people, including me, have Felicity in their top 5. It's a tiny bit worrisome, isn't it? Over the next few years, it will be interesting to see if there's a marked change in her position on the SSA lists or if increased interest is restricted to the boards. I think one thing that might hold the name back is that daddies seem to be less enthusastic about this name than mommies.
For middle names, I'm considering Campbell or West, both family surnames. I also like Felicity Jane, Felicity Camille, and Felicity Eliza. If I do use Felicity, I like both Sita and Faye as nicknames, depending on which suits her personality better.
I really love the nickname Faye! I think it's so beautiful. Sita is very very cute too.
It really does worry me that the name is becoming more popular. Hopefully though, it's just becoming more popular on the boards and not in real life. It may be on several of our lists but perhaps not all of us will use it.
As you said, daddies are less enthusiastic about the name than mommies. I know my husband much prefers Annabel and Lucy (our top two and ONLY two we agree on for girls) over Felicity. And I really thought that this was one name he'd like though because Annabel and Lucy seem to be the same type of name, KWIM? They seem to be very classic, strong names to me and thought that's why Felicity would appeal to him. He said it's "too long" and "not his style." Just can't figure him out sometimes.
I'm thinking of using Mae, Jane or Jo as a middle name if I ever have a girl, as those are family names.
ITA--and how cute they'd be as sisters!
I love the name, and my boyfriend does too. It is somewhere in my top 7 for sure, although I did forget to add it in the top 5 post (I love SO many girls names it is hard to keep track!)
I like the nn's Faye, Fliss, Flicka, Lissy, and Liss... I am really not sure which I would end up using.
