So far the only name dh and I can agree on is Chloe. However our last name starts with Kr, so they have the same K starting sound. I would definately not go for a fn that started with a K, but I'm not quite as sure what I think about starting with a similar sound, different letter. What do you all think? TIA :)

I personally think that in many cases having the first and last name start with the same sound is rather pleasing to the ear...and makes the name easier for people to remember.

I agree with the pp. Chloe is a nice name.
My last name is Phillips - I stayed away from all P names because I didn't want my children to be teased with "pp" initials"

K names similiar sounding:
Katie (Kathryn/Katherine)
Kelley
Kimberly
Kiley
Kayleigh

Other options - sounding similiar to Chloe
Phoebe
Carly
Carrie
Catie(Catherine)
Haley

also...
Toni-ann
Fiona
Finola

If you love Chloe - use it :-)

As long as your surname doesn't have the same 'O' sound as Chloe, I don't think the repeated 'K' sounds are too bad at all. However, if both names have that 'o' sound, I don't think it's going to flow very well (Kroeger would be a bad surname with Chloe, Kramer would be fine with Chloe, for example).

Also, have you two considered the similar but different starting names: Zoe & Phoebe? Or even names that are just similar in feel to Chloe: Annice, Echo, Iola, Clio, Isadora, Flora, Lyra or Zoia/Zoya. Just a thought.

Hehe, no our last name doesn't have an "O" sound, that would be way to rhymey :) I tried to get dh into the idea of Zoe but he thinks it's too Seasame Street for him.

Thanks for everyones opinion. We have a ways to go before we have to decide :)
