I love Ruby! It's simple, familiar and spunky, but not overused at all, and it fits in nicely with some of the other old-fashioned names coming back in style. Nice choice.

I love the name. I find it so spunky, classy, feminine, and uncommon all rolled into one name- that is the perfect combo if you ask me!

To me it seems very retro-trendy. By that I mean it's an old name that'll probably be popular for awhile & then wane. But all the women named Ruby might have the stigma of being from the '00 decade, know what I mean? Kind of like the Ediths of the 1910's.

A girl that I work with has a little girl named Ruby and it is so cute. Her name is Ruby Ann.

I like it, kind of a throw-back name, you know the ones that are coming back with a passion, but not nearly as popular as some of the others--always a plus in my book!

Also, one of my son's favorite books series are the Max and Wuuuuuuby books (Max and Ruby)

I LOVE Ruby for a girl! Unfortunately, my DH doesnt :(
I work with kids, so I see a lot of the same names repeating over and over againn, but Ruby is still unique, yet everyone knows how to pronounce it! Go for it and good luck!

I like Ruby...probably because it is a name on my mother's side (my grandmother's sister) and to me, sounds very old fashioned, southern and saucy. I think these days it lends itself more to a little girl than it does to a woman for me (like Gracie, Katie, Libby, etc) and is limited in that it is the full, given name (as opposed to Grace, Katherine or Elizabeth) but still, it has that spunky charm (more like Lulu, Mabel, and Lola) that helps it straddle the line between campy and cool.
