if you were transparently honest about this, could you admit to LOVING a name this is sort of....Unacceptable in a way?

Is there a name you secretly LOVE? that you might not have the Courage to use?

I love the name "Dominique Venus" for a DD.

What is your secret favorite name?

Dagny, for a girl.

It absolutely doesn't go with any of our other dd's names, and my best friend (who normally says no one should offer any opinion about one's baby name choice E.V.E.R. -- unless asked) blurted out "You can't name your baby that!" one night on the phone. And I hadn't asked, lol.

Surprisingly my dh likes it, too.

As I just responded in another post I love the girls name Amethyst. I love it alot and at the time we were pregnant with our DD my DH liked it but didn't love it. So we went with our second choice Caroline.
Now DH says that we should have named Caroline, Amethyst instead because he loves it now. It is her first middle name instead. Her name is Caroline Amethyst Leanne T*****.
Also everyone else didn't like it, she would used the nickname Amy. Also one of my best-friends named her DD Aimee seven months before Caroline was born.

Sometimes I like the name Honor for girl. But on the TV show Scrubs they made this joke about the name, "Did you get Honor (on her)?" "Yeah I got Honor (on her)" etc - that ruined the name for me. Also, so many people HATE word names.

I find it very heavy/harsh sounding.

Sigh. I *know* most people won't LIKE it -- that's sort of the point of this thread, KWIM? What is your secret name -- the name you probably would never name your child, but that you like anyway? I wasn't after an opinion when I posted, just answering the question. I think it's fun to see what names people come up with! :)

Jezebel! I know I could never use it, but I really do like the sound. Sort of like an edgier Isabel.

I'm reading a book at the moment and the lead character is named Aphrodite.I have to admit it has really grown on me but I would never have the courage to use it and besides which my husband would probably kill me if I even suggested it lol.

Anything remotely feminine or unusual for a boy is out with my dad. He regularly makes fun of men with names like Quentin, and I love those names. Quinn, Finn, Leander, etc.

I have two guilty pleasure names for girls, Lark and Mercy. I would never use them, but I really like them.

I love Elliott for a girl but have never heard anyone use it other than on Scrubs. I also love Quinn which I think is an acceptable name, DH just doesn't like it. DH and I both love Finn for a boy but don't think we are hip enough to use it.
