Sibling names for Roman and Dominic!!

So I'm pregnant with #3 now

We already have two little boys named Roman and Dominic and we have a 4 syllable Italian last name that ends with -ucci. We love Roman and Dominic because they have an Italian "sound" to them but they are not too ridiculously Italian that you can't pronounce them. My husband's name (and his grandfather's name) is Vincent and we used his name as Roman's middle name....Dominic's middle name is John, after my father and grandfather.

If either of my boys had been a girl they would have been Miranda Paige.....but I am now "over" that name since I met someone who's daughter's name was Miranda and they called her COCOA....just awful....LOL....although my husband is still obsessed with the name Miranda Paige....I want a girl name that will fit well with her brothers....an Italian "sounding" name that's fairly easy to pronounce.....right now my favs are Natalie and Sofia. My hubby is not thrilled with either.

Of course we don't know that this baby is a girl, so we are in the market for boys names too! I don't know why but the name Justin keeps sticking in my mind too (of course hubby's not thrilled with it).....and Leo.....and Lucas.....

Does anyone have any more ideas for us??? We are literally pretty clueless for names at all! I would love to have a boy name and a girl name picked out before we find out the sex....so that we can start calling the baby by his/her name as soon as we know if it's a boy or a girl.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Like I said, I'm not sure of the orgin, or even the proper spelling, but I like them. I also love the name Sophia that you picked out. Good luck!

First, I have to say that I still think Miranda Paige is pretty even though you don't like it so well anymore. Also, before I even read that you liked Natalie, I was going to suggest Natalia.

A few other girl name ideas:
Stephanie/Stefania
Veronica
Lydia
any of the -ana/-anna names -- Mariana, Liliana, Juliana, etc.
Karina/Carina
Melanie
Cassandra
Melinda
Leah
Isabelle/a
Gabrielle/a
Samantha
Alexandra
Alyssa
Vanessa

I'm not as good with boy names, but here are a few ideas:
Jacob
Jared
Victor
Michael
Gabriel

I also think Leo goes very well with your other boy names. Good luck making a decision!

I love Sofia too, and your boys names are adorable. I also like Siena (probably because I've just been there) and Lucca for a boy (went there too)
I also like
Lucia, Luisa, Maddalena, Natalina, Isabella, Matteo (can't think of any other boys names)

How lucky you are to be able to choose Italian names, they are beautiful!! For girls, what about Gianna(Gee-Ahna), it's one of my favorite names ever, but we are Irish, and have gone with that for our own kids. Some others for girls: Francesca, Gabriella, Allegra, Natalia, Anna, Lucia (Loo-SEE-uh).
Boys names are always harder for me to think of...... Anthony, Marco, Joseph.
Good luck! Lisa

For some ideas, I knew three Italian siblings (the cutest kids) with these names- the oldest was the girl Sabrina Lianne. Then came the boy Gratziano Nick and another little girl, Carmela Marie (they called her Carma). Here are some of my favourite Italian names:

Gianna
Luciana nn Lucy * my favourite

I put these in the order that I prefer them. All of them are Italian in origin, but I think go well with Roman and Dominic.

Girls:
Carina - beloved, dear
Donata - gift from God
Gaetana - from Gaeta, Italy
Gianna/Giavanna - God is gracious
Delanna - soft as wool
Natalia - born on Christmas
Viviana - full of life
Nicola - fem. form of Nicholas
Trilby - one who sings musical thrills

Boys:
Dante - lasting
Rocco - rest
Leonardo - like a lion
Matteo - from Matthew
Massimo - greatest (nn. max?)
Draco/Drago - dragon
Gaetan -from Gaeta, Italy
Giovanni - God is gracious
Marco - from the name Marc
Nico - Victorious people

Hi J'Nay,

The weird thing is Roman and Dominic are names that came up for my brother (he's several years younger than my sister and I). But he was named Marcus...which IMHO works REALLY REALLY well with big brothers Roman and Dominic. I also thought of Anthony, Cosimo/Cosmo, Felix, Luke/Lucas/Luca, Louis, Pascal, Rafael, Massimo (nn Max) and Oscar.

My sister and I are Florence and Siena (that's me :P), and while Flo got a bit teased for having an old-fashioned name back in the 70s and 80s, I think it would fit right in now. Sienna is awfully popular at the moment, and frankly I've never ever liked my name. Siena would work much better with an Italian surname, it's true...still, it's such a ditzy name that it's hard to get people to look past that image (not guessing here, I LIVE with the name). Er, hope no one's too mad at me for that. So- Italianate names to go with BBs Roman and Dominic: Adela, Antonia, Cecilia, Cosima, Felicity, Franca (which I LOVE), Ginevra (though this is Ginny Weasley's full name in the Harry Potter series), Gisella, Leonora (nn Nora?), Louisa/Luisa, Marcella, Marta, Martina, Mattea, Ornella (really.), Paula/Paola, Serena, Simona, Silvia, Susan(n)a, T(h)eresa, Viola and Violet(t)a.

Um, clearly I like Italian girls' names over the male ones. Oops.

FWIW, my favourites are Marcus, Felix, Pascal and Louis from the boys' list, and Adela, Franca, Leonora and Mattea (though a little Mattie to add to the many many Maddies maybe isn't a good idea) from the girls.'

Hope that helps!

-Sisi.
