Wow, you guys sure are into nick-names! Here are my thoughts:

My kids:

Logan Daniel "Loggy"-Logan Daniel is really handsome. I'm not sure about Loggy, but it's fine for a little one.

Brielle Gianna "Bri"-Brielle is not usually my style, but Brielle Gianna is a gorgous combination. I don't dislike the sound of Brielle at all, but I just perfer Gabrielle nn Brielle. Bri is nms, but it's not awful.

my sisters kids:

Alexandra Rhiannon "Alex"-That's not my favourite combination, but both good names. Alex is cute on the right little girl.

Nicholas Michael "Cole"-I love this one.

Samuel Ryan "Sam"-Samuel is nms, but Samuel Ryan is a nice match. Sam is adorable. I love this sibling set all together.

my brothers kids:

Austin Kyle "Aust"-That's really cute, although I'd personally just use Austin rather than Aust.

Megan Leighanne "Meggie"-That's nms, but it's not bad.

Erica Lucy "Eric"-Same as above, but I do adore Lucy. Eric seems a bit masculine?

Carmyn Sandra "Carmy"-That's nms, but Sandra is refreshing.

BIL's kids:

Blake Matthew "Lake"-Blake is nms, but it's really just because I know a little Blake who is a (uh hum...) brat. I do love Matthew. Lake seems like an odd nn for Blake. I do like Lake on it's own though.

Caleb Evan "Leb"-Oh, that's handsome. I'd personally pick the nn Cale, but Leb is different.

Emily shannon "Emmi"-I don't care for Shannon or Emmi, but Emily is sweet.

Hannah Rae "Hannie"-I adore Hannah (Hannie is cute!), but not Rae.

Jordan Nicholas "Jordy"-That's nice. It's always good to see Jordan on a boy. Jordy is darling for a little boy. I also like Jory.

other BIL's kids:

twins: Carly Renee "Car", & Madalyn Samantha "Maddie"-Carly is nmsaa. I like Madalyn (perfer Madelyn) & Samantha, but Maddie is nms.

SIL's kids:

KAthryn Mae "Kat"-That's pretty. I'd perfer Kate though, but Kat is different.

Jonathon Robert "Jonny"-I really like this one. Jonny is adorable.

Steven James "Stevie"-Steven & James are both good names, but too S heavy together for me. Stevie is nms.

Best friends kids:

Bronwyn Katie "Bron"-Ooh, Bronwyn is different! I like it to a point. Bron sounds a bit harsh. I like Katie just fine, but only as a nn.

Ryder Samson "ryd"-This one is great! Ryd is nms, but I adore Ryder.

Maddox Kai "Max"-That's nms, but it's pretty cool. I love Max.

cambria Laine "Bria"-Hm, nms, but Bria is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow.. that's a lot of names...

glad to see I'm not the only one who does nic names.. all my girls have them.. here are our names

Jessica Gayle Anne---Jessi
Brittany Tyler Dianne---Britt
Sara Elizabeth Irene---Sar said with a long a like Sair
Emily Keitha Colleen--- and she goes by Emmi also!!! love that..

our oldest dd went from Jessie at the age of 10 to Jessi and asked if we could call Emily Emmi so I said sure..

Jessi is having her baby in November and her name might be Madilyn Renae and she'll call her Madie

my BIL/SIL's kids

Miriam Ione
Elizabeth Catherine
Helen Theresa

They do not do nic names.. it's a shame too I like Miri, and Lizzy or Bethi, and Ellie or Tess better than Helen... but that's their kids not mine.

How flipping absurd! You've all given your children perfectly lovely names, which you clearly put a lot of thought into. Kudos on originality and creativity. And now you're calling them Log, Lake, Humpie, Kitty, etc. Come on. Why not just name them short silly things to start with if you weren't going to use their beautiful names? Seems a little wasteful. Whatever. Maybe your kids will all grow up & realize what nice names they have & use them instead of their ridiculous truncated nicknames.

I have a daughter named Cambria Elise, but we call her "Cambers". It is just what I started calling her when she was born and the nick-name stuck. I have never thought to call her "Bria", it just would not fit her. It is interesting to see other people using that name. When we named her almost 4 years ago, I had never heard anyone else named Cambria. One question though, do they say it Cambria with the first a short, like in candle, or do they say it with the long a sound like in cake? Just curious!
Thank you for that insight!
