Maisie

Do you like it? Ive been trying to avoid it but I keep coming back to it.

Do you think of someone's cat or dog when you hear Maisie?

Maisie _____ can you think of any good middle names? Or even potential Nicknames?

I was thinking of

Maisie Lynn (too plain, i think)

I think I want a more exciting mn if i do go with it.

TIA

Kristin

I *love* Macey (my fav spelling)! DH dated a girl named Pacey, so I think it's too close to use, but I don't think of a pet at all. I think it's a great name! :)

No, I don't think of a pet when I hear Maisie. Fact is, if it's a name that keeps coming back to you as you say I'd listen to your heart & go w/ it regardless of others' opinions. We didn't follow our hearts & chickened out when naming our 4th son & we regret it to this day.

Ok, thank you soo much. Well I just have to sit down and mention it to DH.

Oh and to the 3rd poster, I think Maisie has more of the 'z' sound, instead of this 'see' sound in Macey.

Does anyone else think its more of the 'z' sound too? j/w. tia

FourthBoyInAugust What name did you chicken out on? what name did you end up choosing?

Oh, OK, a Z sound. :) So, it's like Daisy, but with an M? I like that too. I wondered about it due to your spelling, but haven't heard it IRL. Except for a really cute cartoon on Nick Jr.! I love the mn Caroline too!

Maisie...makes me think of a mouse...lol - It's good though! She is a character in books and used to be on Nick Jr I think...

It is spelled Maisy on there...but that is what I think of and I think it would be really neat to collect the books for your daughter...she would love it!

You know, the name is growing on me as I mull it over :) And I was going to ask if you planned to pronounce it like Macy or like Daisy, but you answered in your last post...LOL I like the Daisy pronunciation best too...as for nn's you could call her May/Mae/Mai-I think that's very cute. I like the suggestion of Maisie Caroline, I also like

Maisie Danielle

Maisie Allison

Maisie Brianna

good luck!

go with it.

we have 3 kids. jeff, matt and cera(sarah). for matt we had sarah for our top girls name then obviously didn't need it. when we tried to think of names for our last one we had sydney and cera.

everytime i would think "jeff, matt and sydney" it just didn't sound right. but"jeff, matt and cera' just had a ring to it. i am very glad that name stayed in the back of our mind. it suits her perfectly and i would not change it.

a lot of people questioned the spelling. it adds a litllle something to a fairly common name. actually my son is a dinosaur freak and loves the land before time movies. the triceratops' name is cera and it's nice.

maisie theresa

maisie elizabeth

maisie kathleen

maisie rose

maisie michelle

maisie stephanie

maisie jessica

good luck, kelly

I think the name is adorable as well, and agree that if it keeps coming back to you, you should definitely go with it...as far as middle names go, I think lots of the ones suggested sound lovely, but I would stay away from the ones that end in the "ee" sound...gets a little too cutesy IMO.

And thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, too...my fiance keeps referring to the baby by one name, even though he swears we're in agreement on another...You've definitely got me thinking that perhaps it's more than just a slip on his part and that we probably need to consider going with our "second" choice!

Thanks again,

~Carmen's mommy
