Sigh...

First, I want to thank everyone here for all your help with my naming dilemnas - I don't know what I'd do if I just had DH to bounce names off of! I thought we had finally settled on a name, but now I'm not so sure...

First, the good news: Should the ultrasound turn out to have been wrong (it happens!), as of last night, and thanks to a thread I read on here, we actually have a boy's name we both love. I didn't think this would happen, but it gives me hope that there might be a girl's name we both love out there somewhere, too! I'm not crazy about alliteration with sibling names, but I do LOVE the name, so we're running with it. If we have a boy, it'll be Colton Grant, nn Colt.

Now, the not so good news: I posted a while back about Rory (the ONLY name DH loves)

I think Teagan and Cassidy sound very nice together!

What about Romy. It's similar to Rory, but might flow better with your last name.

Other suggestions:
Keeley
Mallory- I think you could get to Rory as a nn with this one.

Good Luck-
Annie

Thanks for the compliment on Cassidy's name! We had no problems naming her - who would have thought it would be that much more difficult this time around?

I am starting to think about seriously considering Lily. It's already on DH's list of names he doesn't mind, so that's a huge plus. Bevin and Quinn both sound a little masculine to me, and Kyla won't

I'm in Canada, so it's harder to find official stats in my area. Just going by the baby announcements in the local paper, though, Payton/Peyton for little girls is off the charts popular (like at least one born in our fairly small area hospital a week), and I know a few Lilys (Lilies?), too.

It's an ongoing argument with my DH: we both grew up with ultra-popular names; he didn't mind it, I hated it. I don't want our daughter to have to be known as "Lily M." her whole life, KWIM? But I'm starting to waver on my position, given that there are so few names DH and I actually like. Whatever name we chose, the middle name will be Kate or Katherine, and we'll use Kate as a sort of a double name, so perhaps instead of having to be Lily M., she could be Lily Kate. (We use Cassy's middle name, Drew, all the time as well.) So I guess that is an option I never really considered until just now. Thinking about it, it also rules out Payton - Payton Kate just doesn't work.

There are so many things to consider!

Teagan just might work - it is pronouced Tay-gan, right (not Tee-gan)? At least, the only Teagan I know pronounces it that way...

Teagan is "tee-" and Tegan is "tay-".

Thanks for the suggestions - some of them might work - I'll have to run the list by DH tonight.

Every time I've seen the name Romy spelt, I've wondered it it's pronounced with a long or short O? I do like it, but because our last name starts with M, it's still a bit of a mouthful.

Unfortunately, Keeley doesn't work with the mn we've picked (Kate), and I'm not too fond of the alliteration with first and last names, so we've been avoiding M names. Otherwise, Mallory would be near the top of my list - there are actually a lot of M names I love that I can't use. :(

Hmmm - thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty sure the Tay-gan I know spells it Teagan... I do like the "tee" sound better myself.
