Single-syllable twin boys

Can you suggest some good single-syllable boys names, especialy paired up for twins. We don't like alliteration or rhyming.
Some of the names we have thought of include Hart, Jude, Trent, Grant, Rhys, Reed, Gage, Tate, Cole, Piers or Pierce or Price, Clark, Flynn. Blake is my DH and he loved his name growing up because it was somewhat unusual, and we want the same, not too popular not too out-there. I love Dex, but does it sound like it should be short for Dexter?
What about Payne as in the golfer Payne Stewart? Does is make you think of "pain" too much?
Also, one boy must have Jameson for a MN, so any complete name suggestions would be appreciated.

Other one syllable names: Quaid, Brandt, Brant, Beau, Birch, Blade, Blane, Blaze, Boone, Chad, Brad, Boyd, Brent, Brett, Brock, Bryce, Finn, Carl, Chance, Chase, Clay, Cliff, Clint, Flint, Cole, Craig, Dirk, Doug, Drake, Gabe, Garth, Jeff, George, Greg, Hale, Hoyt, Heath, Holt, Jack, Jake, James, Jim, Joel, John, Joe, Judd, Jude, Keane, Keene, Keefe, Keith, Ken, Kent, Kurt, Kyle, Lance, Rance, Lorne, Luke, Lyle, Mark, Matt, Max, Mike, Miles/Myles, Mitch, Nate, Neil, Nick, Paul, Pete, Rick, Rod, Ross, Russ, Scott, Seth, Shane, Sean, Smith, Spence, Stan, Tad, Thad, Todd, Vance & Vince. Oh, I know a teenage boy named Choice!
To pair them? Hmmmmmmmmm................
I'd be inclined to pair them according to popularity...uncommon w/uncommon, more common w/common. Or possibly with like origin.
Gaelic: Craig & Kyle *Both are Gaelic and both are heard, but not a lot! Interestingly enough, Craig means 'rock' Kyle means 'near the chapel' (or handsome) Together you get a complete thought: rock near the chapel. Corny, but neat!
I like Shane and Mitch. Ross and Seth. Scott and Keith. Matt and Heath. Rhys and Clark. Rhys and Quaid. Gosh, the combo are endless!
Help or hinder?
Good luck finding that perfect name!

Pierce Jameson is a great name. I like it paired with Rhett, Miles, Drake, Zane or Noel. All so English, classic, strong and masculine.
Dex is not my style. It seems more like a nickname.
Best of luck,

My response to your list:
Hart- I LOVE IT!
Jude- I LOVE IT!
Trent- Great name, not as great as some of other choices.
Grant- My son is Grantson. I love Grant.
Rhys- Too popular. There's also the consideration that Reece/Reese has gone to the girls.
Reed- One of my faves.
Gage- Like this one
Tate- LOVE
Cole- Too popular
Piers or Pierce- I always suggest this name and never can get anyone to bite!
Price- Not one of my faves
Clark- Love it
Flynn- I prefer Flint or Finn.
"I love Dex, but does it sound like it should be short for Dexter?" --- I don't think it has to be in long form, but I know I will be in the minority on this.
"What about Payne as in the golfer Payne Stewart? Does is make you think of "pain" too much?" ---I've known two Paynes. I love the name!
"Also, one boy must have Jameson for a MN, so any complete name suggestions would be appreciated." ---Is Jameson a family name? If so, I think other twin should also have a family name!!!
---YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC LIST. I've been collecting names most of my life and I'm quite critical in most cases, but the reasons you gave for using a short name are great reasons. I think most boys/men prefer the non-fussiness of a simple name, but not necessarily an extremely popular OR totally obscure name!
I love Dax, Ames, Rhett, Mantz, Hunt, Rafe, Lev, Metz, Gann & Lars, also.
For the moment, I'm assuming Jameson IS NOT a family name.
Here are twin combos I like-
Hart Jameson & Jude Finley
Reed Jameson & Clark Spencer
Grant Jameson & Pierce Maddox
Tate Jameson & Lars Pierson
Rhett Jameson & Dax Trenton
If Jameson is family name, what about Blakely for the other one---
Hart Jameson & Jude Blakeley
Reed Jameson & Pierce Blakeley
Grant Jameson & Lars Blakeley
Tate Jameson & Payne Blakeley
Oh, and one more thing- the names you've selected are strong and enduring. Please resist the urge or any suggestion to "cutesy" the twins names up by doing something like Reed & Rhett or Pierce & Payne, etc. Each name will be more appealing if it's similar in style to the other one without being matchy. Just my opinion.
Good luck! You're off to a great start! Ginger
