Yes,I knew sisters that had the same middle name of Ann---their mother's name.

I have three nephews with the same middle name (their father's and grandfather's) and the tradition was continued with the son of one nephew.

My younger brother's two boys have his name also as their middle name, and the son of one of the nephews has his name, too.

i don't think it is unusual to have same middle names, and I think it is kind of nice. Years ago,the sons in families would automatically have the father's name as middle name, unless they were named a Jr. I think it is nice for girls, too.

Yes. My cousins are twins and they are Sarah Grace and Marilee Grace. (Their grandmother is Marilyn Grace and she has a twin, Carolyn Grace. So it was sort of a family tradition.)

I also have a friend who is Laura Marie and her younger sister is Jennifer Marie. Marie is their mother's name. They HATE sharing a middle name and Laura goes a bit crazy when she hears people considering doing the same thing.

Yes I know someone whose middle name is Marie, a middle name she shares with all of her sisters (can't remember exactly how many sisters she has, but at least 3 sisters). Their mother's first name is Marie. Now that they are having children, all of their daughters have the middle name Marie, too -- so three generations of Maries.

Call me a rebel, but if I were in that family, I'd want to mix things up and use Mary or Maria instead. But then, I hate the name Marie.

i had a friend in high school named kathleen ann and her sister was jennifer ann. they were 2 years apart. and a friend i had in college had 2 girls named jessica marie and heather maria. not quite the same but very similar. i asked her about it and she said they were named after two friends she had as a kid. they were 5 years apart in age.

OMG...I was wondering about that. I recently posed about the name Kennedy for a girl. I've already got a daughter by an ex, but I thought that if I give them the same mn, it would bring them really close. Especially since my daughter is 8...the age that she'd really love the gesture.

My mom, sister and myself all have the same middle name. Linda Kay, Sharon Kay and Stephanie Kay. My mom says it wasn't really on purpose -- she just liked how Kay sounded with my fn and my sister's fn. I've always enjoyed having a shared middle name. We are trying to adopt now -- if we have a girl I thought it would be nice to give her the middle name of Kay, but it doesn't really go with any of the first names that dh and I agree on!

Yes, my 3 sisters and I all have the same mn, my paternal grandmother's name. Looking back now, I wonder how my maternal g'mother felt about that.
