Is SML a bad monogram?

I need to know if you think the initials SML are bad...DH thinks that people will look at the monogram at think "smell". I personally disagree with him. One of my best friends in school was Susan Marie Lacivita and I don't remeber her ever having any problems with her initials.

The name we are considering is: Savannah Mason Lee (MN is my maiden name)

Thanks for your help!

I think he's being poverly concerned about that issue. When I 1st saw your writing of "SML" MY 1st thought was "small", not "smell". But I never even would have thought any of this if you weren't specifically asking about my thoughts on "SML"!

I don't think it's a big deal. You can almost come up with something from any set of initials. Mine are EAW and my 10th grade students today were being silly and started saying "Ewwwww" to me. So, I would not let this stop you from using a name you love b/c you may not think of all possibilities anyway.

SML does not bring to mind smell but might small or the small, medium, large thing. I might also think Smile. (If I saw this on a car tag or something, where initials are usually left out, KWIM?) However, when would her friends see this monogram? Most monograms call for first, last and then middle name. Therefore, SLM would be something seen more often, don't you think? I think this is a lovely choice, beautiful name!!! And for what is worth, SLM only makes me think slim. ;-)
HTH! Good luck!

No! I thought small rather than smell anyway at first sight, plus she will eventually get married and it wont even be an issue anymore. Unless she marries a mister T, then it will be Smut. But hey, we can't all get cute ones.

I think you've picked a really lovely name, and like everyone else I thought of small, not smell! I wouldnt think it would be a problem at all :)

no, I don't think they are bad initials. I think the only time someone really thinks to make a name out of someone's initials is if it actually spells something. But kids don't really know each others middle names (unless they tell them of course)

when I saw the topic title here I couldn't figure out for the life of me what SML meant - so no, I didn't think of small or smell

NO ONE will think that, trust me
