Hello all,

Okay, my partners name is Karyll & we had agreed on our daughters name being Kaelyn. Only last week, our OBGYN decided he'd made a mistake so now at 7 & 1/2 months we find out our expected baby girl...is a boy! We'd like to keep the name starting with 'K' but of course we don't want Kyle or Kevin or anything ordinary....help?!

I like Kale/Kael a lot. Kaden, Kailas, Karsten/Karston, Keenan, Keagan, Kellin, and Kynon are also nice. Heres a good website that has a nice list.

You could sort of stick with your original name. Kalen (spelled a few different ways) is an Irish boys name, and with Caden and other similar names so popular right now it wouldn't seem so "out-there" KWIM? Anyway, just a thought! :)

I just wanted to point out that while I love Kade/Kaden I specifically left it off my list because it sounds like you are looking for something unusual, and that grouping of names is incredibly popular right now. There are 33 variations of names that rhyme with Aiden (Hayden, Caden, Jaden, etc) in the top 1000 for boys right now. Plus Cade, Kade, etc. AND The top three fastest rising names of the year for girls are Cadence, Kadence, and Kaydence. I still love most of the names in this category (for years I've wanted to name a daughter Cadence) but I know personally I feel they are too popular for me to consider using one right now, and since it seems important to you to have a name that is not popular, I thought I would point that out.

Good luck chosing - it looks like there are lots of great K names being suggested. My favorites so far are Keegan and Keaton.
