STUMPED ON GIRL NAMES!

My fiance' and I are stumped on girl names. For a while we loved Kailey, then we liked Leina, but now we don't like either of them. For some reason I love the name Eliana (nn Ellie) but I worry that she would get made fun of. I would like a name that can have a great nick name also. Ex. Allison - Allie- Abigail - Abbie- Madelyn -Maddie- any suggestions?

I LOVE Alexandra, however I know so many of them that it sort of turns me off. I adore the nn Allie. I love Allison too, but we can't use that name. Any other ideas on names that could have the nn Allie?

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts:

I'm glad that you're finished w/Kailey. It's trendy, made-up, & silly for a grown-up.

Leina isn't bad, but that spelling is confusing. Any spelling of this name would lead to pronouciation problems imo.

Eliana nn Ellie is fantastic! Why would she get made fun of? It's a beautiful classic. Ellie is a lot more popular then you might think, but it's nothing to worry about w/a gorgeous full name like Eliana.

Allison, Abigail, & Madelyn are all perfectly nice. I'm really not a fan of Maddie though. There are a ton of Madisons nn Maddies running around, & it's gettnig really old. Maybe Madelyn nn Lynnie or Maisie?

Here are some more suggestions:

Annabel nn Annie

Annelise nn Annie

Alexandra nn Allie or Lexie

Caitlin nn Cate/Catie

Callista nn Callie

Cecelia nn Cece/Celie

Celia nn Cece/Celie

Eva nn Evie

Genevieve nn Ginny

Isabel nn Izzy

Josephine nn Josie

Lydia nn Lydie

Lillian nn Lilly

Olivia nn Livie

Rose nn Rosie

Sophia nn Sophie

Sylvia nn Sylvie

Tessa nn Tess

Vivian nn Vivi

Hope this helps!

I like Eliana (Ellie), but I really enjoy Iliana (Ili). What do you think? I think it sounds super cute!
Good luck,

I love that. But whats so hard is my fiance's last name. Vega. *VAY-GAH* I love names ending in A, Eliana, Eva, Briona. But I dont like how they sound with his last name. Any ideas on names that don't end in A that are still feminine? Sigh..who knew this would be so hard? lol TIA!

I can't understand why anyone would be made fun of for being named Eliana -- am I missing something? Eliana is lovely, and personally I think Eliana Vega sounds great. But if you don't like it, of course, that's what matters most. There are lots of great, pretty names that don't end in a -- at http://www.babynamesworld.com/, among others, you can search for names that end in specific letters. Good luck!

I think Iliana Vega sounds really nice together. You could call her Ili Vega! I don't know if you have any nice family names to use as a middle name, but what about...

Iliana Claire Vega
Iliana Callie Vega
Iliana Chelsea Vega
Iliana Elisabeth Vega
Iliana Marissa Mega

Good Luck,
Tracy
