Hi all-

New ideas needed! I'm almost 38 weeks and we still can't decide on a girls name! We are looking for a name that ends in an -ey sound. I am leaning towards Jane as the middle name. The last name is Bittle.

----ey Jane Bittle.

We've considered Riley, Emily, Lindsey, Halle, and a few others (and some without a ey like Brooke)

Does anyone have any NEW suggestions or thought on existing names?

THANKS!!!

Hi! Congratulations - she is almost here! I heard a unique name last night that I really liked - Presley. I thought that was cute. I also like your suggestion of Halle, especially with your last name. Other suggestions ending in the ey sound: Sidney, Molly, Shelby, Carly, Avery. Best wishes to you and your family!

I had a thought about Presley, too, because my dad's name starts with a "p" and my mom's name ends in "lee" so I thought that would be nice to name a girl after them. Plus, my dad is a huge Elvis fan...but that's where I had reservations. How bad would that really be to use "Preslee" even if it was for a different reason than Elvis, in the beginning.

Instead of spelling it Presley, how about Prezli, Presli or Preslee?

Hello- you're getting close! Good luck-

First, my comments on the ones you've considered-

Riley- Super trendy. Lacks the sophistication of Jane.
Emily- The most popular girl name in America for the past eight years, which equates to more than 160,000 of them...
Lindsey- Past its peak, which is a good thing. It seems fresh now. Lindsey grows up well with a female too, which many of the -ey names do not.
Halle- I'm a big fan. It is steadily climbing up the charts, though. Another one that grows up well. Halle Jane Biddle... superb.

Others-
Annie, Jenny, Jeannie, Carrie, Amy, Elsie, Eleni (ee-laney), Laney, Macy, Keely, Leonie, Daphne, Ansley, Sadie, Kenzie, and more popular choices- Lily, Audrey, Molly

I like Leonie, Daphne or Eleni. Adorable on a little girl, classy on an adult.

There is also the option of a more formal name with an -ey nickname-

Alexandra- Lexi, Ally, Andy
Cassandra- Cassie, Sandy, Andy
Marianna- Mary, Annie
Gabriella- Gabby, Ellie
Victoria- Vicky, Tori
Margaret- Maggie, Meggie, Peggy
Lilianna- Lily, Annie
Madeline- Maddie
Adeline, Adelaide, Addison- Addie
Olivia- Livvy
Miranda- Randi
Virginia- Gini
Juliana- Julie, Annie

Take care, Ginger
