My last name is Olsson with 2 s's.

Still people tend to mess up the spelling. People usually spell it Olson or Olsen. My favourite is Ollssen lol. Oh and I also used to get asked a lot if i was related to mary-kate and ashley.

Cool that we have andersson as one of the most commen names in both sweden and in U.S.A.

In sweden most son-names are with dubbel s but some aren't so in the statestic they only spell with one s wich accually is wrong if go by swedish spellling rules.

Cause its Peters son not Peter son.

Yea I know "s" is the correct swedish way to spell it. I just wish everone else did.

If we really still went by the rules. My dads name is Eric so My brother would be Andrew Ericsson, and I would be Kristin Ericsdotter (sp? unknown, cant remember lol)

Some family swedish surnames and first names in my family going back to 1795.

Stina Larsdotter, Margaretha Gustafsdotter, Johan Johnsson, Maria Andersdotter, Anders Bergren, Anna Werner.

My Great Grandparents, Axel Olsson married Ellen Rylander and John Wahlberg married Anna Berggren (Nana Anna, it rhymes lol)

and then my Grandparents Eric Olsson and Elin Wahlberg Olsson.

In the great surnames refrom in the 1800 something, the changes the rules for surname, nol onger was the father names past down to the son or to the daughter. So lot people got new surnames, my family was renamed from Larsson to Trygg and om my mother side the new names became Hedberg and Landin.

One of my best friends lives in Sweden. Her name is Margareta - how popular is that? Her husband's name is Niclas, and her son's name is Oscar, which I understand is quite popular right now.

Margareta is not so pupular cause its the grandparents name and in sweden we often don't give children names after own parents but from our great grandparents.

Niclas never go out in stile and oscar is one of the top names now.
