Switched Names at Birth??

DH and I have decided on a name for our baby girl, Jillian Paige. I have recently started thinking, what if she doesn't look like a Jillian to me at birth? In fairness to DH, who would be thrown if I told him that after she was born, we thought it might be better to come up with a few alternate names we like just in case. Since Jillian is a feminine name we thought we should go less feminine on the alternate names.

Any suggestions??? Have any of you changed your mind about a name after seeing your baby for the first time? Thanks!

hey Piper, Kim here. Aren't these boards great. I am especially enjoying them because we am back at the drawing board with names. We found out Monday at our ultrasound we are expecting a boy. There's definately no doubt about it either. I had a bunch of girl names picked but no boy names picked yet.

Here are the ones I had on my list but wasn't going to use. I just kind of liked them when I saw them. Don't know if they are your style or not. Thought it might help you out.

With my dd, I had a name early in the pregnancy that later we decided not to use. So, we had a different name, then while in labor my bf said I could use the original name if I wanted. We waited til she was born and I decided she didn't look like a Jacinta, so we went with the other Sabrina. I am very happy with her name, it suits her perfectly! It's always a good idea to have alternates! Here are some other suggestions:

Paityn Jill

Paige Jillian (just backwards)

Julianne Alise

Jasmine Raeann

Ryleigh Renee

Abby Jill

I have a friend who had a baby boy a few months ago. They named him Connor. Introduced him to family and friends as Connor. Then decided he wasn't a Connor and changed his name to Ethan. I though that was kinda strange beacuse one day I saw this baby and he was Connor, the next day he was Ethan. But I guess until you fill out the birth certificate, you can change the name as much as you want. LOL.

I think that if there is one name that you totally fall in love with and have no reservations about, then it will fit perfectly to your baby. Still, it absolutely couldn't hurt to have a few "backup" names in mind. GL!

I have two girls and have never had a backup name. We had names chose by midpoint and once we had u/s the girls both became those names...so I don't think physical appearance changed that for us...they were Amelia and Valerie long before that!
