I prefer Talia, dh prefers Natalia with the surname St.Clair. I think Natalia is too popular, or will be (120 in the name charts, Talia is in 400 or so) and Talia has a better meaning which matters to me. we pronounce them both the same with a long A like in father. But which has a better ring to it? Which sound more elegant?

Can you do Natalia with the nn Talia? Best of both worlds there.

I agree with the previous post.
Natalia St. Clair with nn Talia.
IMO, Natalia flows easier with your last name.

i don't know if i am being much help, but i agree with the previous posts as well, the names are similar, and can be interchanged. they are both beautiful names, but this way, both you and your husband can get your way.... natalia with the nickname talia.
you can call her both, whatever you feel like....

Sorry, but I'm with dh and prefer Natalia. You could always have her go by the nickname Talia, right?

I don't care for Natalia but Talia I do like better. Natalia sounds so eastern European & IS less unique than Talia.

Add me to the list of Natalia lovers. I would name her Natalia and use Talia as a nickname. The fact is they are very similar in sound and spelling despite being two different names (Talia's Hebrew, Natalia's Polish, Italian and Spanish) and I think it's easy enough to name her the elegant, refined Natalia and use the lighter, sweeter Talia as a nickname. Natalia sounds better with your last name too!

I prefer Talia. While both names are pretty, I think that Talia St. Clair has a nicer sound to it and rolls off the tongue easier. Or you could call her Natalia nn Talia and give her the choice of using Talia with family/friends and her full name professionally.
