For which sex? I think I would be ok with it if a nn was used ie. Tally. Strong middle name for determining the sex....Talmadge Elizabeth, Talmadge Marie

LOVE IT!! Use it for a boy with no nickname. Is it a family name? Gov. Talmadge in Civil War era NYC?

It looks made-up to me.

I think it definitely sounds like a last name that would definitely NOT make a good first name.

for either gender. I can't even decide which gender you were going for.

Well, it reminds me of "Talmud". Yet I find it very interesting as a name in spite of that! :-) Were you considering it for a girl or boy?

I can't decide if I like it better for a boy or girl. It's traditionally a boy's name, but I think it's unusual enough that it's fairly gender neutral. Dh and I both love the name Talbot (particularly for a girl), so that's probably why I like this name so well - it's so similar. I was thinking of it as an alternative to Talbot (which most people on this board seem to hate) or for a boy if we never have a girl to name Talbot. But I almost like it better for a girl. I can't decide.

No, it's not a family name. I really like surname first names, and almost all of my family names have been used by cousins (Douglas, McHenry, Rutherford). So I'm looking through my husband's family tree (Leighton, Carrington) and other people's (Talbot, Lane, Talmadge)...

:)

NMSAA: makes me think of the governors from GA. I wouldn't name a boy or girl this, especially if you live in the southern US.

I don't care much for it, kinda of a mouth full. May be hard for other children to say. If you are considering it for a boy what about:

BOY

Tallon

Girl

Tally or Tallyanna

I know children with all of these names, everyone thinks there cute and fits the kid.
