I knew a girl named "Talia" but it was often pronounced "Tall-yah"

just FYI...

I LOVE this name, but I prefer the traditional Talia.

No, and I love this name, however I definetly prefer the Talia spelling.

I prefer Natalia, nn Talia, but I don't think any are too close to "tell you."

I prefer the name spelled "talia" as well, but I am afraid it will be mispronounced Ta-lee-a.

Talya is okay and doesn't sound too close to 'tell you'. I think I prefer Talia or Tahlia. Have you thought of Tayla? I love this.

I don't think this would be a problem. As you can see from the rest of the posts, Talia is fairly common, especially if you happen to use it as a nickname for Natalia. Even if you don't though, I don't think it has a greater propensity to be mispronounced than Talya, which could just as easily be Tah-lee-ah, given how commonly people replace nearly any vowel with a Y nowadays.

I totally agree -- I'm MORE likely to mispronounce Talya.

I guess it is preference.

what if you changed the pronunciation to Ta-LEE-ah - like the name Aleya, Aliya, Aaliyah etc. but with a T in the front

you could spell it: Taleah, Taliya, Taliyah, Taleya - I'd prfer the Taliya the best.

good luck
