Team blue and need a name

Hi, there!

I'll be 20w tomorrow and yesterday saw on the ultrasound we are expecting a boy. Now for the name game!

DH likes Civil War era names. We both want something strong sounding, not too far out there or trendy and not overly common. We love the name of our first son, Samuel, as we felt it fit all our desires. We are considering Davis (MIL's maiden name) as a middle name. Any suggestions? TIA!

I'd say Elijah or Elias. Beyond those, I love George, but it's in the spotlight these days. Charles was popular for babies born at the start of the civil was, so that makes me think of Chet, which I like. Edward and William were both popular, so you might like those. I think Beau would be nice and it's not as common as William.

Thank you for the reply! Believe it or not those are in use by family members. We have a lot of boys on both sides of the family! DH now wants to consider Owen, Grant or Cole. Neither one of us is really sold on those though. I'd like something that has a built-in nickname (like Samuel: Sam, Sammy). I had suggested Alexander but DH said no, the initials would be ADH, so not only no to that name but all A names. I also thought Everett would be nice but DH nixed that one as well. Seems that I like longer names and DH likes shorter ones. This is going to be difficult!
