Thoughts on...
10
Tue, 06-13-2006 - 12:40am

My best friend has recently jumped off the 'Madison' bandwagon (*cheer* love the name, hate the popularity) and has started to think about other possible names for a future child. One that we talked about today really started to grow on me so I was hoping to get some more opinions on it.

The name is...

NEILA

What does everyone think?

My daughter goes to school with a girl named Jeneila. Neila isn't bad. I think it could grow on me. I love the name Neil (my brother's name who passed away when I was younger) so that's probably why I kinda like it.

I personally like girl names that end in an "a" and this one is one of my current favorites. Its not too common, yet not so out-there either. Like it MUCH better than Madison.

I love it. I think it's pretty and unique. Much better than the over-used Madison.

I like it a lot; I LOVE Neily/Nealy.

If it's between Neily and Madison, I prefer Neily hands down mostly because of the popularity.

I've been thinking about Neila and Neala lately, I also like Neela and Neely. I think they are cute.

Love it! Especially over Madison ... Neila is much fresher and more unique.

I have heard this name before. My brother-in-law's name is Niels and his wife had mentioned this name to me years ago. She is pregnant now and I'm not sure if she's planning on using it if she has a girl or not. It's okay but I don't think I'd use it. :)

Just saw a similar name on Wheel of Fortune. ;) The girl's name was Aniela (pronounced ah-neil-a). I actually knew someone with this exact name, but they said it ann-yell-a (kind of like Daniella without the D). Just thought it was interesting. :)
