What do you think of Sutton John? My maiden name is Sutton and John is my father in laws name, my grandfathers name, my uncle that married us is name and our favorite place we went to on our honeymoon was St. John Island.

My last name is long though VanHoutan (pronounced How-ton).

Thanks for the feedback! I would like to find out what complete strangers think because of course both of our families love it... I'm just not sure about Sutton, and John is so generic. I'm due 7/23

While I really like the meaning behind Sutton John VanHoutan, I do find it a bit of a mouthful.

I think SJ would make a great nn, SJ VanHouton is very handsome. I know a Stirling James who goes by SJ.

I like Sutton John. I like a common name next to Sutton!

I think naming him Sutton would be great if that's your maiden name, because its a way of keeping the name in the family.

What I don't understand is people who give their kids surnames that have no family history.
