Hi, I have bounced names off you all for the past few months, now I only have 2 1/2 weeks to go until my baby girl arrives and still have 6 names on the list. What do you think is your fav on the list? I live in the Boston area so I don't want an Emma or any other really popular name for this area. I would like pick her name, but I cannot commit to a name yet.. or at least to narrow it down to maybe 2 names at the most from my list below.
Thank you-Tara

Eva
Emerson (nn-Emmy)
Avery
Liv (my new favorite but Dh isn't sure.. is it to weird?)
Riley
Georgia

I like Eva and Emerson.

Liv seems like it would be more of a nickname for Olivia and not a stand-alone name.

IMO, there is one stand out name on your list: Georgia. It is lovely, spunky and not trendy at all. She most likely won't be one of several Georgias in her class, and it most likely won't sound trendy and outdated in 15-20 years (like I imagine that Riley and Avery will).

I'm not fond of Liv as a stand alone name, it seems too nicknamey to me. However Olivia is so popular you may not want to go there either.

Good luck

I would go with Eva or Georgia...hands down.

Isnt Emerson College in Boston?

Avery and Riley for girls are a bit over done for my taste, especially when I am not a fan of boy names for girls.

...and Liv just seems like nn...

Eva and Georgia are beautiful classic names.

Eva- I like Eva, maybe not as much on a little girl but it is nice on someone older. It is a pretty name, although I do prefer Ava.
Emerson- I love this name. Emmy is a really cute nickname. It is on the verge of becoming popular, I am hearing more and more of it. It is very cute. I like it a lot.
Avery- It's nice... not my favourite in your list but still a nice name. Many people will confuse it with a boy's name, although I do prefer it on a girl.
Liv- Liv is my favourite. It could be short for Liviana or Livia or Olivia, or just Liv on its own is really pretty. I think its simple and very cute.
Riley- I like this name a lot too, it makes me think of a spunky red-head.
Georgia- mmm it's okay.

My favourite is Liv, with Emerson in second.

My favorites are Georgia and Eva. I think Liv is cute but only as a nn for Olivia or some other more formal name. I also think Emmy is a cute nn for Emelia, Emily, etc. but I'm not fond of the name Emerson on a girl. I think it's too masculine. Avery and Riley are nms.

Good luck!
