thoughts on waiting until arrival...

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience waiting until the baby is born to pick a final name. My husband is pretty opposed to this, I'm for it. I feel like I want to see who we have before we pick a name. He thinks we might a) disagree or b)wait too long to choose. We knew the name and the sex last time. This time we aren't finding out the sex, and I don't want to go in with one set name for each gender, either.

Thoughts?

We took 2 final contenders and a 3rd maybe to the hospital for the birth of our boy/girl twins. Nolan and Linnea were the top choice, but when we saw my daughter, Audrey fit better, and so our twins became Audrey Anna & Grant.

I have to say my son would have made a good Nolan also (he is very spunky, but fun), but my daughter fits Audrey Anna. She has dark hair/brown eyes and very fair skin. If she had been blond/blue like her older brother, she would have been Linnea.

With all my kids we went to the hospital with 2 or 3 choices. With my second son though, one was a clear choice and it was pretty much set (Cole.)

My husband and I went in with our first with like 4 names for boys (that could be interchanged like Alexander, Matthew, William, and another...so we were thinking Alexander Matthew, Matthew William, etc. And like 2 for girls (we didn't know the sex, but were sure it was going to be a boy, so we never really decided on names). When he was born, the nurse and Dr. both asked his name...I said, I don't know...I need to see him cleaned up...then they did that, asked again, I said, I need to see him again...they gave him back to me, I fed him and then just held him before we decided on Alexander. For a while I didn't think that was his name, but now that he's 2 -- totally!

Now this time, we have one boy's name. (The another from above). So if it's a boy, it'll be that, no question. If it's a girl, we are going in with like 4 names: Adelaine, Audrey, Edelaine, and Brynlie
