Too many k's?

Ok, what are your thoughts on this.... my favorite name has ALWAYS been Kate. Short, simple, classic, I love it! My last name is Cahill. Pronounced K-hill. Is Kate Cahill too much of a tongue twister?

Thanks!

Kate Cahill is a bit of a tongue-twister with the repeating "kay" sounds at the beginning of each name. Would you consider Kathryn Cahill? You can still call her Kate, but she has a more formal name that is easier to say when she introduces herself. Just a thought...

I think it sounds really cute. Do have any other kids? If so, what are their(it's) name??

Personally, I like K names to. I think most of them are very girlie!!

I wouldn't pair the two names together. But if it's your absolute favorite name and you have your heart set on using it, then do so. It's a bit of a mouthful, but I've heard worse.

While there's definitely something to be said for giving your daughter your all-time favorite name--- Kate Cahill, takes sweet, simple, classic Kate and makes it a bit cutesy/forced, IMO.

It's not awful, but it's not a great match...

While none of these are quite Kate, have you considered the following-

Lane, Eve, Hope, Jane, Beth, Clare, Rose,

even-

Leah, Mia, Liza, Laura, Anna, Betsy, Eva, Ivy, Stella, Norah

One other possibility would be to make Kate a double name, which wouldn't be quite as simple or classic, but would break up the sounds-

like- Kate Marie Cahill, Kate Ellen Cahill, etc.--- You could still call her Kate sometimes but she's have the formal double name for times when the full name was necessary...

Best wishes, Ginger

Dear Kate Cahill. How are you today. I hope you are being a good little girl.

So, how was that....? Did it feel O>K> to you?

I think it looks and sounds fine. Kate Cahill does sound very perfessional to me. Look at it this way. She will some day get married and her name will probably change at that time. I was always more worried about who my daughters were going to marry and what last name they were going to have to live with for the rest of their lives. I say go for it. Very nice!!!!!

I used to have a Cate Cal**** (I won't show her whole last name), in my class. I never thought her name was too much. Kate Cahill is similar to that, so I don't think it sounds bad at all! Go for it if you love it!
