Too similar?

Hi everyone! My boys names are Mathew, Mason and Micah. I have several polls going and the favorite girl name is Megan. Well I love the name which is why I included it but I am afraid that it is too similar to my son Mason? What do you think? Another of my options is McKenna and I think that may be too much like Micah? This is the reason I was leaning toward Mackenzie but it seems to be the least favorite among you.

McKenna was our name of choice until moving here. We have 3 McKennas in the small christian school here. How popular are these three names (Megan, McKenna, Mackenzie)where you live? Thank you for your help! Jules

Megan's more popular for girls in the 10 to 20 range here in Mass. (at least, I haven't heard any litte Megan's in the malls.. they all seem to be teenagers or a bt older). MacKenzie is utterly saturated around here.. I know of 12 under 8! McKenna's not far behind. MacKenzie & McKenna are *the* two names I hear being called at the malls & stores most often. Madison runs a very close third.

Have you considered other "M" names? Here's a few (just in case you might be interested)

Madeleine (Mad-eh-len)

Madeline (Mad-ah-line)

Madelyn (Mad-ah-lynn)

Magnolia

Margaret (nn Daisy)

Marigold

Melanie

Melissa

Midori

Monet

Some of them are offbeat (Magnolia, Marigold, Monet) but maybe one of those will grab you!

Good Luck!

I don't think Megan is similar to Mason at all..but I pronounce Megan meg gin...If it was spelled Meagan w/that pronounciation of May gin then it might be a concern...

Of the three listed McKenna is the most popular for babies around here...Megan is w/upper elementary, and McKenzie w/Jr. High/High School...

Megan & Mackenzie are both great names and aren't too similar to your boys names.
