Is Tristan a little feminine or wimpy?

I like the name Tristan a lot. It was my first pick all along.
But, a couple of people told me that it was too feminine for a boy.
Do you agree?
I appreciate your honest opinions.
Thank you! JEN

I think people sometimes think that because it sounds kind of like the girls name Kristin
but I think Tristan is too well-known as a boys name for most people to think it too feminine. I like the name.
good luck
Heck no! One of my guy friends is named Tristan and he turned out to be the sweetest typical all-Canadian guy I ever have met.
Trust me, Tristan is masculine. Screw these people who told you that it's too feminine.
K.K.
I agree that some people may *think* it sounds somewhat feminine (probably because it's similar to Kristin/Kristen), but that logic is a bit flawed, IMO. After all, it sounds just as similar to Christian, which is primarily masculine, and I have NEVER seen Tristan used for a girl (at least not that I can remember). I have, however, seen very-masculine names like Hunter, Jeffrey and Jason used for girls, and I've never heard anyone say "You can't use that name for a boy! It's too feminine." LOL
Just an observation. ;)

I know two boys that are named Tristan. Both are from affluent families with well educated parents. There is also a character from the old episodes of Gilmore Girls named Tristan, he is played by Chad Michael Murray, do you know who that is? He is a very snobby, wealthy, manly character.
I do know one Trystan that is a girl. Her single mom isn't educated, so thats what I think of for girls named Tristan. The picture is completely different.
It is an all boy's name in my opinion.
