trying to pick a name

We are on our third baby and we are trying to agree on a name for a girl. With our other two children we have passed down family names as their middle names. But now we are stuck. We want to name this baby, if it's a girl, after one of my husbands grandmothers. The names we are trying to decide between are: Callie Marie Monroe or Callie Anne Monroe. And we have also tried out Callie AnnMarie Monroe. We are looking for any suggestions that will help us in our decision. thanks

Well, if it helps your decision, Callie Marie Monroe is a little alliterative when said together (and reminds me of Marilyn Monroe ;), while Callie Anne Monroe has a very easy, natural flow. I don't really like how AnnMarie flows with the shorter fn at all (or the capitalization within the name, if that's the spelling you would use). Another combination option could be Marian(ne) (which we considered once after my grandmother, Mary Ann), but again, only if the alliteration/Marilyn Monroe association wouldn't bother you.

Thank you I guess we never thought of Marilyn Monroe sound alike.I need to bring that to his attention to see what he thinks. What do you think of Landon Kayne Monroe if its a boy?

Ooh, I love Landon! Landon Monroe sounds great, and Landon Kayne Monroe isn't bad (but when I said it quickly it did come out a bit like Lanacaine - sp? - but not every time so it's probably no big deal). Is Kayne a family name like the other mns? If not, and if the Lanacaine thing does bother you, I think lots of mns that don't end in another N sound like Landon does would work wonderfully. Or, a very similar name that could be considered a form of Kayne with a little twist might also work for you assuming it is a family name.

Here's some similar ones (sticking with K spellings but many can also be Cs):

Kairne (very similar, but the R sound in there would avoid the Lanacaine thing)
Keane (the "ea" instead of "ay" sound also avoids this)
Kaile/Kale
Kastor
Kavanagh
Kade (but a bit too trendy for me)
Kaleb
Kearney
Kyle(r)

And some -ayne names could include Shane/Shayne or Thane/Thayne.

I really do like Landon Monroe a lot!

HTH! :)
