Ok guys, thanks to those who helped with the Sara and Sierra debate..but Dh and I have come up with a name (we think!) that would go better with Danica....

Michala (pronounced Mikayla but spelled like dh's name-Michael)

I think Michaela (I like this spelling too) sounds great with Danica and with Cloe.

Great choices. I like 'Michaela' spelled this way, it's a bit more traditional.

I'd still go for straightforward Leanne for a mn. Not sure for the other mn.

I love the names Michala, Danica and Tanis.

Other spellings/similar names to Michala (looks more like Mik alla or Mitch alla)
Michaela, Mikhaila, Mikhailah, Mikeelie (my neighbour's daughter..pronounced Mik keel lee)
Mickaila, Mikayla

I like Michaela Tanis and Danica Tanzie.

I think Michaela and Danica make a great pair. (If you are still considering Sara/Sierra.. I like the suggestion of Serafina nn Sera)

I like the combo Danica Lee & Michaela Ann. This way they both have a mn that honors your sister.

Good luck!

Ugh, sorry, but that is horrible. The name itself is really trendy (and on its way to outdated), but the spelling Michala is just bad. Sierra or Sara are MUCH better choices.

You'll be happy to know Mikayla is a misspelled form of Michaela, the actual feminine form of Michael -- not the other way around. ;)

So assuming you'd stick the "e" back in there and spell it traditionally ...

Love Michaela Tanis (really like Tanis a LOT btw! Much more interesting than Lee-Anne, if you don't mind my saying ... what a great way to honor your sis! ).

Love Michaela with Danica.

LOVE that she would also be named for your dh, but still have her own name/identity.

Wonderful, all around. ;)

Michaela is the way it should be, whoever came up with Mikayla should be shot, it butchers a beautiful name.

On the Danica note though, I am sorry to say, it just reminds me of yogurt. I think it is not as lovely of a name as Michaela.

But although everyone is trying to get away from the matchy twin names, maybe another name of Italian origin would be great. Michaela and Luciana?

I don't know your feelings on letting go of Danica, so I will leave that to you. If you are looking for more suggestions though, on the Italian front, let me know. I lived there half my life, maybe could give you a few you'd like.
