Has anyone ever had an ultrasound that said it was a boy and then delivered a girl? Just wondering. My first born was very obvious that it was a boy. I just wasnt so convinced with this ones ultrasound. They say it is a boy. Thanks.

This happened to Kelli's friend a couple of weeks ago. The ultrasound said she was having a boy, but ... suprise!

Ultrasounds can definietly be wrong. I think doctors generally know what they are looking for so they are usually right, but they definitely aren't 100%.

As Annie mentioned, this just happened to my friend a few weeks ago. In fact, she'd had a number of ultrasounds and even an amnio, all of which indicated she was having a boy (the reason for all the tests was because it actually started out as a triplet pregnancy, although only one baby lived past the first trimester). She even showed me the ultrasound photos where the technician had pointed out the "male parts" ... which, apparently, turned out to be a thicker-than-usual umbilical cord, as they discovered as soon as SHE was born! ;) So yes, ultrasounds can certainly be wrong, even when they seem to be pretty "obvious."

This happened to the family in the room next door to us while at the hospital having DD. They were expecting a BOY ... but had a GIRL.

I don't think that poor baby had a name yet when we checked out of the hospital, LOL.

My sister was told she was having a girl and something must have been tucked somewhere or in a shadow because she had a boy. I hear it's much more common to be told you're having a girl that turns out to be a boy though.
