We don't know if were having a girl or a boy, but would love some honest feedback on these girl names. I love Ava, but I'm also interested in more uncommon names. Middle name will be Elizabeth after my sister.

- Kylah
- Mylah
- Lylah

Congrats on your little one! I think you'll get a lot of honest feedback on the boards that spelling a common name creatively doesn't make the name more unique or unusual. At the end of the day it's the same name, just more of a headache for the child because they are constantly having to correct the way people spell it. My thoughts on the three you proposed:

Kylah--I think Kyla is nice (I knew a really cool girl growing up with this name when it really was unusual). It runs into the "k" trend, though, so I don't know how much it would really stand out.

Mylah--I'm not familiar with this, so my first thought is "made up". I like names with history and meaning, so I don't care for made up names

Lylah--I LOVE Lila/Lilah. It's popular, but I think it's classic and beautiful

Some more unusual names you might like:

  • Isla (eye-la)

  • Iris

  • Ada--so close to Ava, but a little different

  • Cecily

  • Blythe

Good luck!

Thank you for your imput... Myla is a character in a book I'm reading so that is where I got that idea. I like it because it is different from Maya yet somewhat similar to my husband's Godmother, Marla. Thanks again :)
