Using both fn and mn in everyday usage

Does anyone here call their child by both first and middle names on a regular basis? All these threads on the name Henry have made me remember that it is a name my dh really liked when I was preg. with our little girl (we didn't find out the gender). To me Henry is a so/so name, although I kinda like Hank. I really like Sterling and dh likes it okay. Now I'm toying with the name Henry Sterling and maybe calling him Hank Sterling on an everyday basis. That's only 3 syllables, no more than Sebastian which is also on the list.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I have a 3 year nephew who is exclusively John Matthew. No one ever calls him John and if his mom is writing/typing it, she always refers to him as JM. It works fine for them.
I also had old neighbors who had both a Wade Charles (about 6) and a Mary Claire (about 8), since their parents always called them both, no one ever tried to call them otherwise. The other neighbor kids never shortened either of them.

When we named DD, we never intended to call her by fn/mn or have anyone else either...but we do and so does much of our family.
