Oh, this game is fun. Here are my thoughts:
1. Ariel-I see brown hair, maybe olive skin, but maybe not, brown or green eyes, quiet, smart, thoughtful, generous..
2. Tana (Tan-uh, NOT Tawn-uh)-Okay, I really want to say Tawn-uh here! I think it'd be mispronounced a lot, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I see an artsy type here. Light brown hair, glasses, high cheek bones, intellegent, but maybe a bit snotty about it.
3. Calista-I see blonde or light brown hair here. Most likely blue eyes. She'd be very beautiful & girly, but modest.
4. Sadie-Blonde hair & pig-tails. Fun loving, witty, maybe a tomboy.
5. Anwen (Ann-win, NOT On-win)-Oh, I like that! Light brown hair, pale blue eyes, mysterious, beautiful, sweet.
6. Caliana (Cal-ee-ann-uh, NOT Cal-ee-on-uh)-Hm, it does seem like it should be said On-uh. I think that I see an exotic red head type here.
Hope this helps!
This is my favorite "name game."
Ariel: A small girl with long hair. She prefers to be barefoot, loves to read about princesses and dragons. Ariel likes to sing. She can draw better than most kids. She isn't overly social, always happy to play alone or with one best friend. She likes dress-up and has a great imagination.
Tana: Sparky and outspoken. Tana has a lot of friends and can be a little bossy. She likes to be the center of attention and her favorite day of the year is her birthday, but only if there's a big party. Tana is the first girl in her school to wear makeup. She's very smart but hates to do school-work.
Calista: A dreamy sort of child with an argumentative streak. She's a bit of a "priss" and isn't always nice to other kids. She has a lot of imaginary friends, loves to read books and watch old movies. She gets along well with adults. Calista is very articulate and precocious. Other kids her age might find her annoying or intimidating.
Sadie: Is always sick of people asking her if her name is short for Sarah ;) (Sorry.) Little Sadie is very cute. She grows up with a "clique" of friends that she is very loyal to. She's not a "popular" girl or an outcast. Sadie and her friends don't fit the mold. She is very compassionate and a great listener, like a little mother. People come to her first whenever they have a problem.
Anwen: A musician or dancer. All the boys are crazy about her and she has no idea. Anwen is very interested in the arts. She spends a lot of time practicing violin or ballet rather than socializing. Her best friends are made at summer fine arts camp rather than at school. She has a unique sense of style that comes effortlessly to her. You'll never see her reading Seventeen or Teen People but she's always a step ahead of the trends.
Caliana: A pretty blond girl who looks and acts much younger than she is. Caliana wants to be the baby in the family whether she is or isn't. She throws tantrums to get her way, even in school. She makes friends easily but they often resent her. She's immature and demanding. People don't think she's very smart because she acts very foolish.
Oooh, fun! ;) Let's see ...
1. Ariel - I think of a bubbly red-head (but probably only thanks to Disney LOL)
2. Tana (Tan-uh, NOT Tawn-uh) - hmm ... never heard this one before, so at least my opinion hasn't been sullied by the media (a plus! LOL). I think I'd picture an olive-complexioned brunette with this name, kind of spunky and maybe a little "mysterious" (for lack of a better word LOL). I'd also wonder if it was a nn for some exotic name probably. ;)
3. Calista - Hollywood's gotten to me here too, but the association isn't really that strong (after all, when was the last time I saw Ally McBeal? hehehe). I actually think this is a beautiful name (but you didn't ask that! LOL). I'd picture a thin, curly-haired "hippy" type girl. Very happy and freespirited, KWIM? Oh, and with light (but not blonde) hair
4. Sadie - Awww (that's my mental picture ... awww LOL). Seriously, though, I'd picture a somewhat shy, but very friendly down-to-earth kind of girl. You know the type, always polite, not too wild but with the sweetest little smile. Oooh, and I bet she really likes animals (no idea why that just popped into my head, but there you go! LOL) ;)
5. Anwen (Ann-win, NOT On-win) - with the Ann-win pronunciation, I'd picture a darker-haired girl, either a very-fiery red or brunette ... I haven't decided yet. She'd definitely be spunky and outgoing, probably with lots of friends. (That was my first impression, but oddly enough I can also see this working very well on a more reserved, artistic type girl ... someone who paints or writes or something creative like that)
6. Caliana (Cal-ee-ann-uh, NOT Cal-ee-on-uh) - I picture a cutesy, bubbly little girl with dark, wavy hair ... very possibly Italian. (Edited to add: I somehow missed the pronunciation of that one, and would have pronounced it more like Cal-ee-on-uh. With the Cal-ee-ANN-uh pronunciation, I'd actually picture a Texas girl with a heavy Southern accent. Very spunky and tom-boyish, with dirty-blonde hair in haphazard pigtails. Oh, and she insists on being called Callie!)
That was fun! Can't wait to see what others thought.

Here are my impressions.
1. Ariel - a golden haired princess type
2. Tana (Tan-uh, NOT Tawn-uh)- studious, but not geeky. Outdoorsy and athletic.
3. Calista - fairly smart and pretty with confidence, but not arrogance
4. Sadie - spunky and strong minded, but sweet
5. Anwen (Ann-win, NOT On-win)- artsy, in an intellectual way
6. Caliana (Cal-ee-ann-uh, NOT Cal-ee-on-uh) - slightly exotic and sensual, in a Sophia Loren kind of way.
OK I did this wrong the first time, but I am just not envisioning anythng pleasant with these names, except for Princess Ariel the Mermaid, and Caladonia, the traditional name for Scotland!
Oh man I am stuck, these names are hard! At least they are very original! :)

I don't "see" certain names as certain types of people.
I like Ariel, never heard of anyone named Tana with that pronunciation, that seems kind of strange to me, Calista is OK, probably underused, I don't like Sadie at all, and I hate to say this, but I've said it on the board before, I know too many people with dogs named Sadie and I at one time had three very elderly aunts named Sarah who went by the nickname Sadie and that makes it seem sooooo old to me, I don't like Anwen at all either, it's just too weird sounding, I think Caliana is the prettiest name on your list, very rare, too.
good luck
Ariel- Or corse I think of the little mermaid. You cant help but not!! But I see a little brunette with pretty blue eyes.
Tana- Sounds a little like Tuna. I see a kindof lanky, goofy looking blonde with blue or green eyes.
Calista- I think of a blonde like Calista Flockheart.
Sadie- I think of that girl in the Manson family. Sorry!
Anwen-I think of the elf from Lord of the Rings. She was pretty, so thats a good thing.
Caliana- sounds like salad dressing.
I like Anwen the best!
I, seriously, had to look up who Calista Flockhart was, lol. I wasn't a big fan of Ally McBeal and I've never seen any movies she's been in and if I have I didn't know her real name. I've never heard the name Calista before....but now I know. I still love the name. :)
