I can never play this game because I'm don't get pictures from names, but I wanted to pipe up about the Calista issue. I associate it with Calista Flockhart, but I also associate it with the character Calisto from Xena. She was the ultimate evil villian who murdered and tortured mercilessly and for fun. So when I see Calisto/Calista I always cringe a little. I think Calista is a very pretty name, but that association definitely turns me off.

The only other associations I get from your list are the obvious little mermaid reference along with Ariel Sharon, for Ariel.

To tell you the truth, that's where I got the name Tana from. I didn't much like her but I love the name, lol.

LOL, that's funny. I really don't think the association is a problem, very few people probably remember her at all by now and certainly given a few more years no one will make the connection. I wasn't a fan of hers, but I do like the name!

Hi,

Maybe it's because I'm British, but I would automatically pronounce your names the way you wanted them said I don't get how Anwen could be pronounced On-win, Tana could be Tawn-uh or Caliana could be Cal-ee-on-uh - they would never be said that way in Britain.

Here's what I think of when I hear these names:

1. Ariel - A little girl with long, wavy blonde hair and big bluey-green eyes. She would be a dreamer, living with her head in the clouds but she would be intelligent and attract sweet, loyal friends.

2. Tana (Tan-uh, NOT Tawn-uh) - I see a girl with red pigtails and freckles and green eyes. She would be a tomboy who loves climbing trees and riding horses and when she got older would be very sporty.

3. Calista - I see a sandy haired girl with blue eyes who's tall and arty. A little bit clumsy but funny with lots of friends.

4. Sadie - A blonde girl who is very pretty and is into fashion and makeup. Is popular at school and streetwise but average intelligence, prefering to be in showbiz than going to university.

5. Anwen (Ann-win, NOT On-win) - a quiet dark-haired girl with brown eyes. She is loyal and friendly and gets on with everyone. She is very intelligent and caring and loves to sing.

6. Caliana (Cal-ee-ann-uh, NOT Cal-ee-on-uh) - A dark haired girl with blue eyes and tanned skin who is very pretty. She loves to act and is creative but can be a bit selfish at times.

The way I would want them pronounced would be how they are said here in Ontario, Canada. A lot of people on this board are from the US and many I find pronounce Ann like On. I would never pronounce it like that but I just wanted to make sure my names were put out there correctly. I don't get how Tana could be pronounced Tawn-uh, if anything I think it would get mixed up with Dana and get pronounced Tayna. If I wanted it to say Tawn-uh I'd spell it like Donna - Tonna. I don't like the sounding On in names at all, Ann sounds much nicer to me.
