Wanting opinions on these sibling names

We have Luke and Grace. They have a half brother whose name is Joshua, but is always called Josh. I may be pg again and have baby name fever! I thought we should stick with a one syllable name, but two of the names I really like are Lydia and Adam...how important is it that the names be similar and go together?

Is it too much to have one syllable for them and 2 or 3 for the last child? What about Luke and Lydia both starting with L? Personally, I just like the names and that's how we've chosen before, but I don't want it to seem odd to have the last child be a bit different.

Personally, I think Adam and Lydia fit beautifully with Luke, Grace and Josh. All of the names are classic, biblical names. They match in style, which is what is important to me. (It would be weird if you had, for example,

I think that if the names seem right, then use them and don't let anything else matter. I think Adam sounds great with Luke and Grace. Lydia isn't my favourite, and I know it would bother ME that it starts with an L like Luke, but if you love it, use it. Adam is a great name BTW! My favourites for a girl with you are Claire/Clara, Miriam, Sarah (nn Sadie?), Faye, and Angela (Angie sounds very sweet with Luke and Grace). Good luck.

Lydia & Adam are great w/your other kiddos' names!

It's really not that big of a deal that they're not one syllable. They're stil simple enough, & totally have the same classic feel.

Good luck deciding!

I think if you and your husband have found names that you "love", you should definitely go with them, and not choose a one syllable name, that would be your second choice!! Lydia and Adam are great names in the same classic/traditional style as your other childrens' names, and they all sound perfectly natural together. Personally, I know that when introduced to a family for the first time I do not generally analyze if the childrens' names have the same number of syllables (or letters), though I do notice if they all start with the same letter or have a common theme (such as place, or biblical, names).
Good Luck to you.

I love Lydia or Adam with your other kids. I also like that Lydia has 3 syllables like Joshua (even though he goes by Josh)--it ties him in with his siblings more, kwim? While it may be 3 syll, it is inly 5 letters so it still looks short when written out too. Adam is one of my favorite boy names, and it goes perfectly with your other names. Good job.

I think both Adam adn Lydia work fien with yoru others. They aren't the same # of syllables, but that isn't impt. What is impt is that they be of the same style...which they very much are. I encourage you to use either.
