I have a question. Is that pronounced with a hard G sound or soft like a J?

I think it's a pretty name in theory, especially since I love the nickname Gigi, but I can't help it...every time I see this name, I have to force myself to pronounce it Giselle and not gazelle. And even though I'm forcing myself to pronounce it properly, gazelles are still on my mind the whole time I'm looking at the person named Giselle. The two words are so related in my brain, and they sound so much alike, that I'd never use it myself. Again...LOVE Gigi, though!

I love this name. It's one of my guilty pleasure names since I usually don't like names that are this frilly/feminine.

I think that it is way too similar to Gazelle. A Gazelle is an antelope and not something would want to name my child.

Also, Giselle is derived from the german "Gisel" which means 'hostage' - again, not something I would want to name my child.

Sorry.

Okay in that case I Love it!! I was going to say if it sounded like the hard G sound umm no. But with the soft sound I think it sounds beautiful and very feminine.

On a scale of 1-10--- 7

Pretty, feminine, fitting for the trends without seeming trendy, and grows up well with a girl.

Becoming somewhat popular... Top 175, I think...
