Sorry, but I'm biased on this one. There's a guy named Dusty in my office and his elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, if you know what I mean. So I associate the name with someone not so bright, and I'd say no, regardless of gender.

I agree, I don't like Dusty or Dustin for either sex. But especially not for girls (JMO -- I personally love really feminine names). Dustin seems quite '80s to me, too.
No, sorry. I think Dustin is EXTREMELY masculine. Dusty could be cute as a nn on a little girl, but she would need something better than Dustin to use when she gets older.
Sorry, Dustin is all boy, and the only girls I've ever heard of "named" Dusty were strippers (although I'm sure their mothers didn't actually name them that). :(
