Everyone has a different idea of the number of children to have... How many children would you like to have? and has this number changed since your first pregnancy ? or after the birth of your first child?

I'm an only child and love it. My DH is one of 4 and feels that's way too many. So, we had decided on having just one and stuck by that until...ooops! Now we are expecting #2 and we're happy with it, but will definitely stop here.

We always thought 3 kids. After first DS, we knew we would have a sibling for him. After second DS, DH could have stopped I think and been totally happy. But, needless to say, we are TTC #3 right now. DH said this is it.. but I think we will see after we have #3. We always thought a family of 5 would be the perfect size for us. I think we just have to wait and see.

Hey Donna! How've you been? :)

I always wanted 5 and then I married DH and he wanted 3 so we "compromised" on 4. Then after Nicholas was born I decided that if it was a girl, we are DONE and if it's a boy we'll have our 4th (actually DH's 5th!) but not until the kids are 5, 8, and 12, and all in school.

I'm an only child, and the older I've become, the more I've hated it!

I've always said I wanted 2 or 3 kids. Three would've been nice, but seeing as I'm just now preganant with my first, and I'll be 37 when the baby is due, I'll be happy with 2!

There will not be any only children for me, no matter what it takes. I think it puts too much pressure on your child, and I don't think it's fair.

I have 2 beautiful girls one turning 5 and the other 2. I can't get #3 out of head, DH says he is content & we are a family as is. If we could get that guaranteed boy he'd go for it. If we will DTT I want to do it now. That way the kids will all be just about 3 years in between. Now that my youngest is 2 I am getting baby fever again, I though the baby itch would go away but it hasn't - so should we go for it?? I have to really talk with dh. AGGH! Sometimes I think 2 is crazy - how can I handle more but I guess you manage. My oldest will be in school all day in the fall. 9-4. We will see........

We always knew we'd have at least three (and no more than four LOL), but now that number three is due any day now I definitely don't feel like our family is "complete" quite yet, so hopefully number four will come along sometime in the distant future. ;)

Of course, whenever someone brings it up (why do people feel the need to ask about future children while you're obviously still pregnant with this one? LOL), he'll roll his eyes and comment that we're "done" after this one, but then he did the same thing when we were expecting the other two as well (too hard to think about ficticious future children when the latest addition isn't even here yet LOL). Since this baby will supposedly be our third girl, perhaps the old "try one last time for a boy" thing will be enough of an excuse for him (although he's one of the few men I know who'd rather have all girls than all boys LOL, so he is perfectly happy with our little angels). ;)

I would like to have 4. I have 2 now and have had 1 miscarriage in between them. After the miscarriage I didn't want to have anymore, didn't want to possibly put myself through another. It only took a few months to convince me again. The day that my 2nd was born we were already discussing a 3rd. For the longest time I didn't want anymore and we were talking about dh getting 'fixed'. I figured it wasn't that I didn't want anymore but that I didn't want the 3rd close in age to my little guy. My youngest is a bit of a handful at times, one of the reasons why we're waiting a little bit longer. If all goes well Ethan will be 8 and Logan 5 when the next is born. Then not much after that they'll both be in school all day so I can spend more time with the baby. Did I ever imagine wanting 4 kids? No way! LOL. I truly want more...it's like starting all over again for us because of the age differences. I'm excited!

I've always wanted 3 and that is still true for me. My husband is ok with a big or little family. He has said however many I'd like to have is good with him. I've got one two yr old now (and on the rough days she feels like a hundred!) so on those days, I think one more would be enough but usually, the idea of 3 seems right.
