Does anybody like the name Dawsyn for a little girl? I just heard it yesterday, and the jury is still out for me. BUT...it is growing on me.

I don't like it because I usually don't like boys' names and/or last names for girls. That's especially true of names ending in "son" which means "son of." And I never understood how randomly placing a "y" in the place of another vowel somehow makes the name more feminine. To me it just looks misspelled. But maybe that's just me.
Edited because I can't spell.

I see Dawson strictly a boy's name. I've never seen it spelt anything different other than Dawson.
Terra.
Dawson is all boy to me. That being said, I would much prefer to see Dawson on a little girl than Dawsyn. I really, really dislike replacing o with y in an attempt to make a name more feminine. It just looks misspelled. The child would not only have a boy's name but she'd have to constantly spell it for everyone.
Sorry, just my opinion!
My brother Daniel just had a little boy and named him Dawson. I think it is a boys name and should stay that way. I usually like unisex names but I guess I am beginning to feel how some mothers with little boys whose names have been "stolen" by the girls.

I have to agree with everyone ... only on a boy, and spelled correctly. Sorry! ;)

I really dislike the "-syn" spelling, but I'm neutral toward Dawson in general. It does sound more masculine to me than many other names (Madison, Jamison, Emerson, etc). Maybe Dawson' Creek is still current enough to be coloring my opinion.
If it works for you and you really love it, I say use it...but please use Dawson rather than Dawsyn!
