Hi There,

Dh hubby and I were just discussing names and we once had Joshua on our list. He came up with Joshua Thomas Scott. WDYT? I think it is the best thing he has come up with thus far. Considering he was liking Maximos Halsey Scott. Lord help me! Thanks for the feedback!

Josie

PS I know some people think that a "J" name is two cutesy with our first son Jacob but I like it. Thanks again!

I really like it! Thomas has always been a favorite of mine, and Joshua is a strong classic. Nice work!

Joshua Thomas is not my style at all but I do think it flows very nicely together. Good job hubby, lol. Better than what my husband comes up with - Murdoch Thomas from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends (big eye roll).

Joshua and Thomas are two of my favorite names.

Are you planning on having more kids though? If you do you may not want to go with another J name if you think it may limit future kids to a J name. Supposedly that's the way it started out for the Duggars (the couple with 16 kids - all names starting with a J).

I liked the name, until I remembered that your first son's name begins with a J. It really is too cutesy, I don't like that. Here are some names I think sound good with Jacob:
Nathan
Cody
Zachary
Tristan
Ryan
Cameron
Matthew
Cory
Anders
Adam- this is my fave! Adam Gregory Scott???
Noah
Nolan
Kyle
Lucas

Are there any you like??? I would really advise against using a J name!

Joshua Thomas is lovely! I think it's a great combination of classic names. I don't think Jacob and Joshua are a problem at all.

As someone that used a J name for my first daughter and then a J name for my second daughter I am feeling conflicted about not using another J name for a possible third daughter? I am pregnant with my fourth and cannot find a J name for a girl that I like but I wonder will she question or resent the fact that I have a J name and her sisters have a j name but she does not??? Careful the precedent you set with choosing a second J name if you plan on having more children. I do NOT think it is cutesy though. JMO

Well, to be honest, I prefer Maximus to Joshua by a lot. I've just tired of Joshua...it is so overused and lacks the sharpness/appeal of Jacob. With Jacob, you have nn Jake but with Joshua you get Josh (which is soft/weak/unappealing to me and rhymes with slosh/gosh/mosh/and is way way way too close to "flush") I say no to Joshua.

I love it! Joshua Thomas has such a nice flow as does Joshua Scott. The S sounds run together a bit in Josh Scott, but it still sounds great. J.T. would be another nice nn if you or he ever decided to use it.

And I think sons named Jacob and Joshua are fine -- it's not like you're naming them Jack and Jake. FWIW, I know a family with boys named Michael, Matthew, and Joseph, and they all sound great together even though the 3rd boy name doesn't start with M.

Great choice!
