Help, we are due in 6 weeks with a baby girl and are trying to narrow down names. Please let me know what you think of those we have come up with. The middle name is a family name so we want to use this for sure- but the first name we are undecided one. If you have other ideas we are open to suggestions too!

Taylor Cynthia
Paige Cynthia
Austyn Cynthia (does this sound boyish??)
Amelia Cynthia
Addison Cynthia
Brooke Cynthia

Any other ideas with the MN Cynthia?

Taylor Cynthia -- It's okay. There are others on your list that I prefer.
Paige Cynthia -- I love it! Beautiful combo!
Austyn Cynthia (does this sound boyish??) -- I'm not a fan. I think Austin is all boy. And, I'm not crazy about the "y" spelling.
Amelia Cynthia -- I love Amelia!! The double -ia endings aren't ideal. But, the names are so classic that I could easily overlook that.
Addison Cynthia -- too trendy and masculine for my taste.
Brooke Cynthia -- I like it alot!! Brooke is a great, all-american name that isn't very common!

hello!! well from your list, i like paige and addison. austyn sounds way too boy ish-and there are enough names in my opinon that have gone both ways and shouldnt be...jaden, brayden, aidyn, teegen, keegan, etc...as far as the names sounding right with the middle name-as long as it sounds good with your last name, i wouldnt worry so much about it sounding right with the middle name...mainly because youre not going to be calling the child by its full name-unless theyre in big trouble...but thats just my opinon-take care!

My absolute favorite of your first name options is Amelia. I really wanted to use it for DD#2, but DH vetoed it. :-P However, I'm not as thrilled with the flow of Amelia Cynthia.

So, my vote would go to Paige, Brooke, or Addison. I'm not a big fan of unisex names, so Taylor is out for me, and Austyn is just too masculine, IMO. I know that Addison is unisex, too, but that one doesn't bother me as much.

If I had to pick just one for you, I'd go with Addison. It looks like you're fond of the unisex names, and it has a nice flow with Cynthia.

Some other ideas you might like...
Avery Cynthia
Morgan Cynthia
Camryn/Cameron Cynthia
Lauren Cynthia
Madeline Cynthia
Megan Cynthia
Carolyn Cynthia

Austyn as a girls name is really really not my style. Adding the y doesn't feminize it, it just makes it look like you are trying to feminize it. Someone on the board once suggested Austen (as in Jane Austen) for a girl, but I would only use it as a middle name. I think that parents of boys named Austin would cringe upon meeting a girl named Austyn/Austen. Just my opinion.

Taylor Cynthia -- OK
Paige Cynthia -- Like it
Austyn Cynthia (does this sound boyish??) -- NMS
Amelia Cynthia -- Like Amelia, but not with Cynthia as a middle name.
Addison Cynthia -- OK
Brooke Cynthia --OK

Have you thought about Cynthia as a first name?

Have you considered Cynthia as a first name? I have actually really thought a lot about it as a middle name because it's my mom's name. It is really hard to fit as a middle name, in my opinion. But, as a first name to lots of your other choices, it works beautifully:

Cynthia Paige
Cynthia Taylor
Cynthia Brooke

Of your choices, I like Austin Cynthia. I'm not a big fan of the "y" spelling, but have you considered Austen - instead of being invented, it's literary (as in Jane), and makes it a good intellectual match for a classical name like Cynthia.

Hello there! Firstly, congratulations!

Paige Cynthia is my favorite, followed by Brooke.

It sounds like you prefer jaunty, gender neutral names. Some suggestions:

Shae Cynthia
Greer Cynthia
Carys Cynthia
Reece Cynthia
Lake Cynthia
Waverly Cynthia
Tatum Cynthia
Nola Cynthia

Best of luck!
P.S. I do think Austyn sounds like a boy's name.

Brooke Cynthia has great appeal and the best flow.

Taylor has peaked and now seems dated and over-popular.

Paige is pretty, but I think Brooke flows better.

Austyn is a good choice and flows well with Cynthia. It would be my second choice, only I would much prefer Austin.

Amelia doesn't work with Cynthia in my opinion. In general, names sound better when you vary the syllables and vary the ending sounds.

The -son at the end of Addison runs into the Cyn- of Cynthia.

Brooke peaked long ago and now hangs around as a fresh yet classy name.

Let us know what you decide!
